I see all these great books everyday working in a library and I figured I ought to share some of them! Here's a few sweet ones:
A simply amazing look at street art and graffiti in Paris. The photos are beautiful and the work is totally inspiring.
This is the story of an octopus who grew up in the captivity of a scientists lab and is suddenly set free. He spends most of the book trying to fit in and find his place in the sea. The artwork is so totally phenomenal. It looks to me like woodblock prints and watercolors. This is an old one, it was published in 1975 and was released in paperback in 1990 -it is out of print so if you see it at your library or a used book store check it out while you can!
This is one of my favorite picture books- I've used it quite a few times for story time and the kids love it as much as I do. The story is about a little boy who is told to put his paints away but he just can't stand living in a world without color. He paints a different part of his body on each page as his world regains color.
